Oktoberfest Bavaria

View This Picture On Black Background
We went to Oktoberfest this year, which starts in September for those that don’t know. We stayed at a very nice bed and breakfast, Hotel Post in Grainau, Germany. Of course this isn’t the beer tents and Bavarian “babes” that most are used to associating with Oktoberfest. Those pictures will come later. The morning after we woke up to the sound of a bunch of cow bells outside. This is what we saw when we opened the balcony door.

Sennfeld Street Shed

June 27, 2010 Leave a comment

A couple weeks ago the wife and I took a trip to where I grew up in Germany. The name of the town is Sennfeld. One of my memories is having to walk my dog after school. At the end of our street was a narrow walk-way that opened up into a large area of farm-fields where I would let him run loose and do his business. Going back almost 20 years later it hasn’t change at all. This picture also has an interesting story which also kind of adds to the feel of the darkness on the right side. As I was setting up for this shot, at the end of the road to the right, a little off frame a farmer was dying. After I took this we started walking and an ambulance came racing by out to the fields. They tried CPR but weren’t able to revive him. Unfortunately his wife showed up a few minutes later. That memory of what was going on makes me agree with the dark side of the image.
